Current Account Closing Letter
Use this letter to notify your old bank that you are closing any and/or all accounts you have with them and instruct them to send you any remaining balance(s).

Automatic Payment Cancellation Letter
Use this letter to cancel any automatic payments you have setup in your old account.

Automatic Payment Transfer Letter
Use this letter to transfer any automatic payments from your old account to your new Jefferson Federal account.

(New Account Checklist)
To assist you in the transfer of your account(s), we have provided a convenient checklist to help you keep track of the process.

• Make sure all checks have cleared on your old checking account.
• Keep sufficient funds in your old account to cover any automatic payments that may still be pending.
• To avoid potential penalties on CD’s, check the maturity dates before submitting a transfer request.
• Send written notice to all your direct deposit relationships (Social Security, pension payments, payroll, etc.) notifying them of the change in your banking relationship.
• Send written notice to all companies who automatically take payments from your bank account(s) (utilities, internet service providers, financial institutions, etc.) that your are closing your old account(s).
• Send your new account information to all companies that you want to continue using automatic withdrawals with as the bill payment method.
• Send written notice to your old bank or financial institution that you are closing your account(s).
